A large crowd at Economic Outlook 2010 greeted Mr. Jan Smets, Director and Head of the Economics Department, National Bank of Belgium and Mr. Henk Brouwer, Executive Director of De Nederlandsche Bank.
The
inaugural event of the Flanders Ontario Business Association was
co-hosted with the Canadian Netherlands Business and Professional
Association. We are very grateful to our Dutch colleagues for their
support and willingness to help us launch our new business association.
Mr.
Smets and Mr. Brouwer suggested that the current economic recovery is
fragile, as it is being sustained by temporary factors while we are
still losing jobs. The US especially, with its growing debt, will
continue to be vulnerable.
